Enhancing the Impact of Clinical Guidelines in Africa
Challenge
In many LMICs, SOPs and clinical guidelines are underused due to poor access, low awareness, and limited digital tools—leading to inconsistent care. MLH, with Grand Challenges Senegal, is transforming access and engagement with these resources to support standardized, evidence-based practices for frontline healthcare workers.
Solution
With Grand Challenges Senegal’s support, we’ve piloted an AI-powered platform in major hospitals to standardize care. Hospitals can now upload SOPs, distribute training, track attendance, auto-generate assessments, identify knowledge gaps, and issue certificates—enabling real-time monitoring of healthcare provider comprehension.

Transforming Reproductive Health Access Through Digital Innovation
Challenge
Inefficient supply chain management and lack of up-to-date information among healthcare providers have posed significant challenges to equitable access to family planning products in underserved areas of Kenya, including Meru, Tharaka Nithi, and Isiolo.
Solution
In partnership with ICRHK, we digitized Kenya’s National Reproductive Health Commodities course on MLH, reaching over 25,000 HCPs. This has empowered providers with essential supply chain knowledge to better manage reproductive health products and improve service delivery nationwide.

Empowering Young Doctors for Improved ASRHR in Kenya
Challenge
Kenya faces gaps in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRHR) services, driven by limited training for young doctors and medical students. Many are unaware of national guidelines, contributing to low contraceptive use, unplanned pregnancies, unsafe abortions, and rising HIV/STI cases. Opportunities for youth involvement in ASRHR research and advocacy are also scarce.
Solution
The Kenya Medical Association (KMA) partnered with the Medical Learning Hub (MLH) to deliver a comprehensive ASRHR training and research program. Through workshops, webinars, mentorship, and an online community, young professionals were equipped with skills in evidence-based care, advocacy, and policy engagement.

- 30 young doctors and medical students trained in ASRHR research; 500+ engaged online.
- A digital platform fostered knowledge sharing and regional collaboration.
